"MARTA MORAN BISHOP IS STUNNINGLY TALENTED. THIS WONDERFUL BOOK IS NOT ONLY CHARMING, BUT IT HOLDS A BIT OF MAGIC ON EACH PAGE ... THE KIND OF MAGIC OF DAYS GONE BY.” WEE THREE: A MOTHER'S LOVE IN VERSE

A book of short stories written in verse from a child's perspective that can be read and enjoyed by young and old alike. "Marta Moran Bishop is stunningly talented. This wonderful book is not only charming, but it holds a bit of magic on each page ... the kind of magic of days gone by. The beautifully rendered prose urges us to remember, to close our eyes and revisit slower days, childhood days, when there were no cell phones or computers to distract us from seeing the wonders in nature and the world of make-believe..." - Beth Hoffman, Author of NY Times Best Seller, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt "...Throughout the pages of Wee Three, author Marta Moran Bishop takes the reader on a poetic trip back in time to the simpler, carefree years of our youth, when nothing was more important than chasing bumblebees or taking jovial walks through the snow...
Kudos to Bishop for highlighting the essence of innocence in such fun-filled, comprehensive fashion." - Wendy Paulson - Apex Reviews Recapture the pure joy of life when one's imagination was the key to play.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Wee Three" is Chock Full of Charm!

"Wee Three" is a wonderful collection of poems that will inspire children's imaginations. These poems are written in rhyming verse and will delight readers of any age.

As a child, I grew up roaming the farm and spent much time playing and working outside, so I especially enjoyed the poems about plants and animals. These poems do a splendid job of evoking childhood memories, and today's children can certainly benefit from simple, old fashioned fun.

I loved the poem about chicken pox and realized that my own young daughters will never catch this once common childhood disease. It is these little things in life that can be the most important, and I believe that Ms. Bishop has captured the essence of childhood with this sweet collection. The poems are catchy and make reading them an excellent exercise for early readers. Most of the poems are relatively short, so even the most fidgety children can sit still to read or listen to one of these entertaining poems. Though short in length, these poems are long on content and are a great read for all children, or even adults who once were children. Check out "Wee Three", and you won't be disappointed!

FROM THE COURT OF HENRY VIII - TO JACK THE RIPPER - THE MANSON FAMILY - FOLLOW THE LIVES OF 5 WOMEN AS THEY ARE REINCARNATED. WHO WILL ESCAPE, WHO WILL NOT? A NOVEL BY FRANKI DEMERLE

Five Flowers is the story of five women who find themselves drawn together through several lifetimes. The challenges they face deal with love, betrayal and finding their way to personal independence. What is the strange attraction they feel toward the sinister man around whom they orbit like satellites? Which of them will break free, and which will fall victim to him again and again?

Franki deMerle has rapidly become one of my favorite authors. I love her character portrayal and the depth she is able to pull out of each of them. It fascinates me to follow each character through lifetime after lifetime as their souls attempt to learn the lessons they failed at in the past.

This is one of my favorites for it takes one through some of the most fascinating and devilish periods of history.
In her book Five Flowers we follow six characters, five of them women from the court of Henry the VIII through encounters with Jack the Ripper and finally to a Charles Manson like scenario. It is a book I could not put down as it drew me deeper and deeper into the lives, hearts, minds, and souls of the story.

The writing is rich in detail, the characters deep, and the plot well research and brilliantly depicted.
I highly recommend this book.

I was swept away while reading Five Flowers into the court of Henry III, and then on to the horrors of Jack the Ripper, and the Manson Family. As I followed the lives of five women who reincarnated through these times, I wondered who would finally break the cycle, and who would not. Highly recommend this well researched novel with deep character development and brilliantly depicted by Ms. deMerle.

IT CAN ALSO BE EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN. MY WALK WITH VIRGINIA WAS LIFE CHANGING. IT WAS UNEXPECTED. IT WAS CHALLENGING. IT WAS FRUSTRATING & CONFUSING. A WALK WITH VIRGINIA: THE BLESSINGS AND BLUNDERS OF CAREGIVING A MEMOIR BY JILL ZAPATA

To walk with another person can be as mundane as putting on one's socks and shoes, or it can be a twisting, turning, life-changing journey into unknown territory. It can also be everything in between. My walk with Virginia was life-changing. It was unexpected. It was challenging. It was frustrating and confusing. We had highs, and we had lows. Thankfully, it was also awe-inspiring and extraordinary.

Have you ever been a caregiver for a family member or a friend? Is it, perhaps, on the horizon of your life? Or maybe you cannot yet see the horizon. Make no mistake, it is not a question of love, whether to provide much needed and potentially long-term care. It is a question of necessity. Love, and devotion born out of love, are the firmly rooted footings on which you stand when providing this necessary care. Humor is the grab bar you grip tightly when the ground below you begins to shake or shift. Patience is paramount. I survived it, and you can, too. I believe I am a better person having had the experience.

My story is a true account of my caregiving experience with my mother-in-law. It lasted only a few short years and, in that time, carved such deep and permanent remembrances too good not to share. Some would ask, "why share something so personal?", and my reply would be, "why not?". Life is so much sweeter when shared with others. I hope you find comfort, a little guidance perhaps, enjoy a few laughs, and chew on some 'food for thought' as you journey with Virginia and I through the blessings and blunders of Caregiving!

5.0 out of 5 stars A HEARTWARMING, COMPASIONATE LOOK AT LIFE AS A CARETAKER
Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2021
I just finished reading the most heartwarming, compassionate memoir by Jill Zapata ‘A Walk With Virginia.’ In it, Ms. Zapata recounts her time spent as a caretaker for her future mother-in-law Virginia.
Having spent time as a caretaker for my mother, I can attest that there are both the funny, as well as those that were heartbreaking, confusing, and yet as Ms. Zapata puts it a ‘fellow feeling’ happens that can only be, between those who you have spent the time as their caretaker.
For as they lose their mobility, ability to do things they once could, and sometimes even their ability to communicate, or hold onto a thought, or activity for long, they become not only your friend, but your child, and no relationship can you ever be quite as close to another, as you do when you become a caretaker.
Yes, it is at times challenging, emotional, frustrating, and difficult, but the joys, and laughter lives on in us so much longer than those harder memories.
I loved this book and shall be one I reread over the years.

THIS BOOK FOLLOWS IN THE GREATEST TRADITIONS OF MISTY OF CHINCOTEAGUE, AND BLACK BEAUTY, DELVING INTO THE MAGNANIMOUS, YET SOMETIMES DAUNTING EMOTIONS IN THAT RARE, FINE PLACE WHERE HUMANS AND HORSES MEET.

Winnie Award Winner at the Equus Film Festival. Dinky: The Nurse Mare’s Foal is the story of one little foals fight for survival after being taken from his mother within hours of his birth. Dinky, takes us on a poignant trip through the heart and mind of an animal, who was born for the sole purpose of producing milk in the mare. In the elite world of horses, Dinky was considered a by-product, a ‘junk foal. ’Dinky’s story will resonate with animal lovers, as well as anyone who has adopted. Although a horse, his story has been called an adoption story. The reader can follow him through the heartbreak, cruelty, loneliness, and finally to happiness in his forever home. His story is based on true events. Each event from the moment the author met Dinky actually happened, though it is the author’s interpretation of what he might have been thinking and feeling during the occasions described in his story. His early life which is unknown has been fictionalized by the author and constructed through research and imagination. There are many wonderful animal rescue leagues, many are very empathic to these young animals, though some are not. Since Ms. Bishop has no knowledge of Dinky’s early days she used the latter to enhance the strength of his story. It will break your heart, open your eyes, lift you up, and teach you much about horses. It is suitable for all ages.

AS A CHILD, SAND REMEMBERED LIVING BEFORE. SHE REMEMBERED HER DEATH IN DACHAU - DECEPTION PAST BY FRANKI DEMERLE - IS A STORY OF BETRAYAL AND FORGIVENESS.

As a child, Sand remembered living before. She remembered her death in Dachau, but she didn't have a name for her past life identity until a former friend claimed it as her own. She is haunted by her past death and recurring premonition of another death to come as she grows up in Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and early US spaceflight. Her past life memories put her in conflict with the religious beliefs of mainstream society. The convergence of conflicting cultures results in race riots at the high school Sand attends. Sand's friend, Chrissie, remembers writing poetry in 19th century Amherst, Massachusetts, as Emily Dickinson. After Sand graduates from college and goes to work for a local newspaper, her childhood premonition of another death comes true. Meanwhile, a package that she has kept a secret suddenly resurfaces, but what does it mean? She discovers that her next door neighbor, a rising rock star, is a bigamist. Sand's story is told by Brenda Campbell, who is the daughter of the bigamist rock star, through the symbolism of her Tarot cards. Deception Past is a story of betrayal and forgiveness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Packs a powerful punch~
It opens in the present in the year of 2007 to set up the events that begin in 1958, beginning the story of Sand (Sandy) when she is four years old. Entries go back to the current time with Brenda, then back in time to Sand. They also touch back even further in time with Sand's dreams, and those identities that the characters embrace. It was very interesting to see how the paths crossed and the past caught up to the present and the effects.
While reading, it was interesting for me to see how I felt a bond with Sand on her view of the world. She seems to follow her own heart and mind and refuses to allow those in her life influence her. She is open with her thoughts and ideas with a few select friends, but only to a degree.
While it is summarized as `a story of betrayal and forgiveness', I felt there was so much more. The symbolism is quite apparent throughout the tale, and not just with what each Major Arana of the Tarot represents (for each chapter). There are awareness lessons that can be learned and applied by the reader in daily life if they so choose to see them. I found that I was very involved in this story as I was searching to connect the dots of the past and to see if peace within could be attained for the characters. A very great story that sweeps you along the way.

I decided to read this work as I, like many I know, harbor an interest in Tarot and Regression Therapy (Past Life experiences). The story has a few main characters, aside from `Brenda' whom is telling the story of Sand. I personally found that I enjoyed the spanned time-frame with historic events and Sand's view on them.

I highly recommend this book to everyone who is interested in human nature or just interesting thoughts. Kudos to Ms. deMerle for her courage in taking on such a interesting subject.

The action packs a wallop as a horrific murder occurs at the onset of the story and kept this reader intensely curious to learn how the murderer was going to be caught – with Gwynn Reznick in the persona of Diane, playing a part-time accountant for the H&E Oil Company where the ‘accident’ took place. She takes another case for the benefit of a company attorney, although her longtime employer and love interest Rubin from R.D.’s Investigation Company, cautions her to tread lightly.

Gwynn is staying at the local hotel owned by her aunt and uncle, coincidentally where other employees of H&E Oil live. The locals are having issues with livestock, and with a slew of other investigators/attorneys on all these semi-related cases – nothing is as it seems in this riveting story, as well as the rest of the unsavory characters this reader found totally wary of trust.

I love the way Bishop's imagination can weave such odd, and entertaining stories.
The Night of the Fairies shows us if we wait we will become whom we want to be.
The Other Side was just as fascinating! A man finally finds the woman of his dreams, but is he willing to make the sacrifice of a successful life?
The Hollowers was a bit more disturbing but fantastic. A lazy man, living in an imaginary world, finds a box that gives him the ultimate reward if you want to call it that.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to see outcomes in different situations.

"What an amazing story!! It was one that I couldn't put down!" ~ Demon's Destiny, book one of the Dark City Guardians by TW Knight

Garrett Duex Sabres is handsome, wealthy, brilliant and a demon with a split personality feeding on the living energy of humans. However, unlike others of his kind, Garrett chooses not to feed off pain and misery, he’s discovered a more palatable and just as potent source—sexual energy. Exploiting his charms, Garrett spends many evenings moving from one “dinner-date” to the next siphoning off small amounts from willing playmates. When Kay walks into Garrett’s life, his entire world is flipped around. Kay Piper Jordan had once been held captive by a demon leaving her scarred in body, mind and spirit. Now, nine years after her escape, she is homeless, hunted, and still wondering exactly what the demon, Border, had intended for her. When Garrett rescues her from Border’s servant she finds herself conflicted. Garrett isn’t at all like the other demon, in fact he seems to be highly over protective of her—even form his other, darker, personality Taledrin. Taledrin lives less than a half-life. For just one week a month his other side gives him control. Unlike Garrett, Taledrin likes a little pain with his pleasure and cruses the seeder clubs for his “dinner dates”; or fights whoever he can just for the thrill. But once Kay enters the picture he finds himself curbing his natural tendencies. He begins to care, even vying for her attention. No matter who wins the battle for Kays heart one thing is clear, both Garrett and Taledrin must work together to keep her safe and out of Borders hands.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Crime Novel!
Chance is the second novel in the Sidney Jones series. Carolyn Bowen takes her readers on adventures all around the world, and the settings are fabulous!

I will fully admit that I did not read the first novel in the series, Primed for Revenge, and I feel that I should have read it before reading Chance. I am confident that I missed a lot from the first novel that may have made me feel better about Chance.

Now, that is not to say that I didn’t enjoy Chance. On the contrary, I thought it was a great novel. Bowen has a way with words that make you feel like you are there with the characters sitting on a Barbados white sand beach.

Unfortunately, without having the background on Sidney and Walker’s relationship, I was incredibly upset at the way he behaved through the novel. A guy as smart as Walker could have arranged any number of situations where he could have made a difference. Instead, he went in a direction that made me perpetually mad at him.

I won’t let that shadow my rating, though, because the writing is fantastic. My anger at the characters does not take away from the phenomenal writing and how well Bowen describes her world to us. So, with that in mind, I award Chance a full 5 out of 5 stars.

I do recommend that you read the novels in order, as Chance was not a standalone novel, nor is it meant to be. I will be going back and reading Primed for Revenge to up my knowledge before the third novel is released.
